Gourds galore...

One of the things I love about fall are all of the gorgeous gourds available this time of year. Whether natural ones found at the grogery or local farmers market to the beautiful home decor options. This organic shape can be found in candles, vases, and my favorite stlye, in lamps.

I have been wanting to add a gourd lamp to my living room and have been eyeing all of the options. I love this style not only for its beautiful shape but also for the symbolism that the gourd represents. The gourd is most commonly recognized for its symbol of longevity and good fortune, stemming from ancient eastern traditions where the gourd was once used as a drinking vessel.

In Feng Shui, it is believed that when a gourd is placed in ones home, it will bring longevity and good luck to the lives of its inhabitants. Here are some of the gourd lamps I am loving right now;

House Beautiful

I love browsing consignment stores and thrift stores for interesting pieces of furniture that are often  unique and usually reasonably priced. The other day I stopped into one of my favorite furniture consignment shops, just to browse, and imagine my delight when I came across these...
