Although it is still hard for me to believe…my oldest son is graduating from high school in just a few weeks!

Now that the official countdown has begun, I am busy planning a backyard graduation party for family and friends to join us in the celebration!

First step in planning the party…hop onto Pinterest to get some incredible ideas and inspiration! I have been pinning away, collecting photos of decorations, recipes, party favors, table centerpieces, backyard lighting ideas….etc.

Here are a few ideas from my Pinterest board Grad Party 2012

Table centerpieces made with grad cap treats. These would be perfect since his high school colors are red & black. Following with the red & black theme, this amazing desert table is so fun and festive…

This is a clever idea of using your outdoor potting bench as a drink station…

I love this idea of hanging ribbon around the edge of the table – so simple and no need for a tablecloth…

I will definitely be hanging a lot of tissue paper pom-pom flowers around the yard…

And nothing says “Party!” like balloons….

  3. Just sent our invites today! Since she will be going to Texas, we are doing the Tex-Mex theme along with a chocolate fountain and candy bar for dessert. Rather than using her high school colors, we decided to go with her new University's color scheme (she is over high school). Now, if I can just get my brother to get the sod done!!! Ugh!
