Today is the first day…

Yesterday morning I woke up, and the first thought that crossed my mind was this quote…

You see, yesterday was move in day for my son going off to college. When I came downstairs for coffee to get the day started, I quickly wrote this fitting quote onto our chalkboard.

The morning was busy getting all packed and loaded, ready to hit the road…

Clothing – check, bedding – check, supplies – check, bicycle – check…looks like he is all ready to go!

After a last minute visit from a friend to say goodbye and drop off some homemade and decorated cookies. Thanks Kendall, you are so sweet!

Mom and Dad won’t be the only one missing him. It will be an adjustment for his younger brother too…

Definitely a new chapter for all of us! I hope both my boys will keep this quote in mind and remember to live each day to the fullest!

  2. Love that quote! Good luck to him. Katie is doing well (despite the fact that she thinks she has the flu along with half the school). She is supposed to fly home Friday for her birthday. 1st trip home...can't wait to see her!

  4. Awww...I bet Mom shed a few tears huh? That is a great quote and so so true. I think about how certain decisions we make impact the rest of our lives - for instance, where we go to high school, college, first job - those are all huge in determining life's path. Who knows - your son might meet his future wife at school. Best wishes to him and to your family as you get adjusted. And great photos of your family!
