Last week I ventured into Berkeley, Ca. to find this amazing salvage yard…
This unique building salvage and supply yard has an interesting history in the Bay Area. Visit their website for the entire story here.
Their mission…
Ohmega’s aim is to build community thru commerce by being a model of reuse,
recycling and social exchange.
We wish to preserve old quality items and resources and make them available to our customers.
We spent most of our time browsing the buildings and salvage yard on the other side of the street…
This is where they have an incredible selection of salvaged building supplies from windows and doors to just about everything…including the kitchen sink!
Vintage wrought iron scroll work…
Some of my favorite items were found inside the shop where they restore and sell all of the hardware collected from demo sites. Look at this entire wall of old door plates, door knobs, hinges and more…
Pretty porcelain knobs…
Beautiful brass knobs…
Gorgeous glass knobs…
This wall was covered with vintage wall sconces…love them all!
I also loved these unique doorbell plates…
They are actually situated on two sites, across the street from each other. This building is called the General Store and houses mostly Victorian era salvage items…

If you are ever in search of unique and vintage hardware this is definitely the place to look first! Check out Ohmega Salvage online, and if you live in the Bay Area plan a trip to Berkeley to visit this amazing shop!
Here is what I ended up with…
Some vintage window frames for a client project. More info coming soon…
That place is heaven to me. I could really use some of those porcelain knobs.

Laura! You should have called me! I love an excuse to head to Ohmega or Urban Ore. Seriously, try me any time you are in Berkeley--it would be so fun to go around together. Great pics!
